Roll Bin Creator
Plugin for DaVinci Resolve

This script generates camera roll-style bins inside the DaVinci Resolve Media Pool using a simple dialog. It allows assistant editors and DITs to quickly create structured bin hierarchies like: A001, A002, A003. Perfect for on-set dailies organization, postproduction prep, or DIT workflows, where naming consistency and speed are critical.

  5. Open a project in DaVinci Resolve. Go to Workspace > Scripts > Edit > Create_CameraRoll_Bins
  6. Optionally you can add a 24×24 PNG next to the script with the same base name (e.g., `Create_CameraRoll_Bins.png`) to show a custom icon in the Scripts menu.

II. Run the script

  1. Open your project.
  2. In the Media Pool, select the parent bin where you want the roll/card bins to be created. (If nothing is selected, the script uses the Root bin.)
  3. Launch the script from Resolve’s menu: Workspace > Scripts > Edit > Create_CameraRoll_Bins.
  4. In the dialog, set how many bins to create, the starting number, camera letter and amount of digits.
  5. Press "Create" to create the folders.
  6. Example, the settings: Letter `A`, Digits `3`, Count `10`, Start `1` will create the folders: `A001` to `A010`
  7. Existing bins with the same name are skipped safely (no duplicates).
